Outdoor Salzburg.
Ivan Milosevic is the driving force behind Outdoor Salzburg, based in the heart of the Austrian Alps. With a Master’s degree in Tourism Management and years of experience exploring alpine rivers and lakes, Ivan combines professional guiding with a deep passion for fly fishing and the outdoors. Since moving to Salzburg in 2015, he has built strong connections within the European fly fishing scene and gained extensive knowledge of the region’s waters. Austria is often overlooked as a fly fishing destination, but it offers some of the most diverse and well-preserved waters in Europe, from clear alpine rivers to productive lakes holding strong populations of brown trout and grayling. Ivan’s goal is to introduce anglers to this “hidden gem” and show just how special these fisheries can be. His guiding style is flexible and tailored to each guest. Rather than focusing on a single river, Ivan selects the best water based on conditions, season, and skill level, ensuring every trip offers the best possible experience on the water.
Waters & Clubs.
Ivan guides across a diverse range of waters in Salzburg and Upper Austria, allowing him to tailor each trip to the angler’s skill level and preferences:
- Hurch Fly Fishing waters – A selection of well-managed, high-quality rivers including the Traun system (Goiserer Traun, Ischler Traun) as well as alpine streams like Rettenbach and Weissenbach. These waters offer excellent brown trout and grayling fishing with a mix of accessible sections and more technical opportunities.
- Ager River – A unique and productive river known for its strong fish populations and consistent fishing conditions, offering a different character compared to classic alpine streams.
- Smaller rivers & hidden streams – Beyond the well-known waters, Ivan also guides on lesser-known rivers and smaller alpine streams. These locations are carefully chosen based on conditions and offer a more quiet and exploratory fishing experience.
- Alpine lakes – For something different, Ivan offers fishing on alpine lakes, including belly boat fishing, providing a completely unique perspective and access to fish that are otherwise difficult to reach.
